This Listing: Amazon Frogbit(Limnobium Laevigatum)

Pond Size: 1-2 large plants, about 7-10 inches per pod

Aquarium Size: 3-5 small/medium plants

Description: Amazon Frogbit is an easy, beginner floating aquatic plant whose common names include West Indian spongeplant, South American spongeplant and Amazon or smooth frogbit. It is commonly used in ponds, but it is also very useful in the aquarium (it consumes excess harmful chemicals that build up through fish waste), which makes it perfect for fish bowls or betta tanks. It is a little larger than many other floating aquarium plants, so it is an excellent option for providing shade and cover for more reclusive species. Its leaves are very lily-like and will float at the water's surface, which can also be very useful for small semi-aquatic animals in terrariums and palludariums. This particular variety grows to 5+ inches per pod and reproduces at the surface with runners along which new pods form. Pond Size frogbits have stems and leaves that emerge vertically out of the water, as opposed to floating flat on the water's surface.

• Because we ship live aquatic plants, availability and condition can change quickly. Every order undergoes a careful quality inspection before it leaves our facility to ensure you receive healthy, vibrant plants. If any item does not meet our standards at the time of shipment, we will not send it. Instead, you’ll be promptly notified and fully refunded for that item.

• Quarantine: Live plants need to be quarantined before introducing to any new system such as an aquarium, pond or water feature. Unwanted pests and hitchhikers such as snails, larvae, eggs, can be common and to be expected, i.e. unless the plant is lab grown in-vitro (tissue culture). For most submersible plants, an additional step of a 1:20 ratio bleach-to-water plant-dip (leaves only, never dip roots) is recommended; direct message us if you need more detailed instructions for this step, or to check if your plant requires this added step. If you want to be sure your plant is 100% sterilized against unwanted pests or algae, please perform a quarantine and/or bleach dip; always wash and rinse plants before introducing them to any new environment.

• Photos are a sample representation of the given species, not the exact specimen you will receive. They can be slightly smaller or larger than advertised (in the listing description under 'Size Range'), but not by much. We do our best to select only the best specimens for shipment and take pride in our products and customer service. So please reach out if you have any questions! We're happy to help.
